Barb and I at her 40 something....

still trying

still trying for that christmas photo...

So Thankful

Thankful for Rob's mom's summer sausage recipe... and the memories of Christmas with Sandy
Skyping with Ellie's neighbor friend from California, that just moved.  A little broken-hearted- but skype is a great thing!
 Uncle Randy's 40th (thankful he's 40 before me!)

Playing catch the mouse and vacuuming at the same time- can't beat it.
Polar Express, the night we put our Christmas up, still trying to figure out the movie.  I totally get the book.
Finishing up the top of the tree, (some things never change: (with lil' Em and her pants- absolutely priceless)

Watching Polar Express...   and believing in the MAGIC!

"Let's skype!"

Having a friend move away is tough.  Ellie's good friend and neighbor, Riley, moved to California, and Emily's friend, Erica, moved to Canada.  They have been writing back and forth and anxiously await a letter in the mail daily.  They love exchanging pictures, stickers, and sweet words scribbling BFF's at the bottom of each letter.  We are trying to help with some of the sadness by letting them talk on the phone some, which is really cute for a 6 and 9 year old.  They talk about favorite colors, what they are learning about in school, what they want for Christmas, among other various topics.  We took it a step further and let the girls skype together, which was absolutely priceless!  We were worried that it might make them miss each other more, but they were adorable together!  They got there American Girl dolls and showed them to each other and talked about their hair and outfit.  Sometimes they would just stare at each other and smile.  To end their conversation, they both kissed the computer.  "Let's skype tomorrow!"  Yes, besides the good ole' letter writing which skype could never replace, skype might be a good thing to help with some of that heavy heart stuff!

(will figure out post at some point...)

Heavenly Weather

This week has blessed us with the most heavenly weather in the history of mankind.  It's just so comfortable... like an old sweater, with enchanting morning frosts, afternoon cool calms and evenings with just enough chill to call for hats and quilts...

Thankful

November is here, ready or not!  This gorgeous weather is a daily reminder of all that we have to be thankful for. My hopes is to find in each day a bit of gratitude and a thankful heart.
There are many things that I am grateful for, however for this initial post, I will share that I am deeply grateful for the main man who gave me this incredible life, God.  It is through Him that I am able to do anything!
