Found this at my favorite store in Lebanon, The Open Hearth. Hanging on our dining room wall, it's a great story starter for my girls. They love to read it while we're eating dinner and talk about the quotes and what they mean, and then relate it to their own lives. My other print I bought in our mudroom says, "Today I will be happier than a bird with a french fry."
Today was pretty happy. Rob and the girls went rafting down the Little Miami River with the girls for Indian Princess, and there were no tears!!!! Big. Had some down time at the house (which it seems we haven't had a lot of this summer), then a great night at home. Just us. Nice. Nowhere to be. The girls spent the afternoon playing with their American Girl dolls, then took them out to the playset, only to end up on the dining room table. Scattergories was a hit tonight. We all got into the game. I was so impressed with Ellie's involvement, even. She came up with some really great words. It's the girls' favorite game. Looking forward to playing lots more family games together with Ellie getting at that "game-playing age."
The last thing that made it great about the day was that Rob is going to RCIA this Fall to "officially" become a Catholic. Yeah!
